Focus

"HORIZONS: Journal of Education and Social Humaniora" is committed to being an academic space that supports cross-disciplinary scientific exploration with interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and transdisciplinary approaches. This journal is designed to discuss in-depth issues in the fields of education and social humanities, emphasizing innovation, novelty, and scientific contributions that are relevant to the wider community.

Peer Review Process

The HORIZONS Journal: Journal of Education and Social Humanities implements a Double-Blind Peer Review policy, every manuscript received will go through a review process by the Editor and reviewer, using the Double-Blind Peer Review policy, namely the reviewer does not know the identity of the author, and the author does not know the identity of the reviewer.

 

The HORIZONS Journal: Journal of Education and Social Humanities implements a Double-Blind Peer Review policy, every manuscript received will be sent to the Reviewer registered in the HORIZONS Journal: Journal of Education and Social Humanities. The review process lasts a maximum of 30 (thirty) days with a time allocation given to each reviewer to complete the review process of a maximum of ten (10) working days. If the previously appointed peer reviewer cannot complete the review work within the specified time limit, the Chairperson of the Editorial Board will appoint a replacement Reviewer to review the manuscript.

 

In the review process, the reviewer provides considerations related to the suitability between the title, abstract, introduction, discussion (results) and conclusion. In addition, reviewers also consider matters related to novelty, scientific impact, and references used

 

Review Process:

  1. Authors submit manuscripts.
  2. Editor's Evaluation [some manuscripts are rejected or returned before the review process]
  3. Double-Blind Review Process
  4. Editor's Decision (Accept Submission, Revision as Needed, Resubmit for Review, Reject Submission)
  5. Confirmation to the author
  6. The final decision on article acceptance will be made by the Editor in accordance with the reviewer's comments.
  7. Publication of accepted articles including the order of articles published will be carried out by the Editor-in-Chief by considering the order of receipt date and geographical distribution of the authors.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to full-text articles in this journal without prior permission from the publisher or authors.

 

 

Publication Ethics

HORIZONS: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Humaniora Sosial is a peer-reviewed journal, available in print and online, and published twice a year. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the authors, the editor-in-chief, the editorial board, the peer-reviewers, and the publisher. This statement is based on the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

 

AUTHOR

Reporting Standards

Authors must present original manuscripts, unpublished in any form, and not submit the same article to another journal until the publisher has given an answer regarding the suitability of the manuscript. Authors must provide accurate and accountable research data. Authors must cite sources appropriately by considering the content of the manuscript both in the form of written publications and personal interviews.

 

Originality and plagiarism

Authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others, this has been appropriately cited or cited.

 

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

In general, an author should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

 

Authorship of the Paper

Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Where there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.

 

Data Access and Retention

Authors may be asked to provide the raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review, and should in any case be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable period after publication.

 

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

All authors must disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.

 

Fundamental errors in published works

When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author's obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper. If the editor or publisher learns from a third party that a published work contains a significant error, it is the author's obligation to promptly retract or correct the paper or provide evidence to the editor of the correctness of the original paper.

 

EDITOR

The editor of the journal HORIZONS: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Humaniora Sosial is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must always drive such decisions. The editor may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editor may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.

 

Fair Play

An editor at all times evaluates manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

 

Confidentiality

The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

 

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.

 

REVIEWERS

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper.
